VOTE DARLA 2020!

Darla the Wonder Dog is running for office… although we don’t know exactly WHAT office that might be.

She recently informed LB that “I think it’s time for ME to be in charge” because “How much worse could I make it?” With that in mind, she has forced Lou into the job of campaign manager.

Part of the initial phase of Darla’s campaign has been the creation of a social media presence. You can now follow official Darla the Wonder Dog accounts on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

There is also Vote Darla 2020 swag in production including stickers, pins, and lawn signs. These will be available for her supporters through social media contesting on Darla’s accounts. Some of these items will be autographed the candidate herself!

Darla is confident in regard to the approaching campaign stating, “I will rule with an iron paw!” It would seem that Lou is less-than-thrilled, muttering under his breath, “I’m getting a bad feeling about this.”

10 QUESTIONS WITH LOU BRUTUS

The esteemed broadcast industry website All Access has honored Lou by making him the subject of their first 10 Questions feature for the rock world in the new year.

Brutus was quizzed about many aspects of his career, even going back as far as his internship at WMMR/Philadelphia. They also cover how he first came to be nationally syndicated, some of his favorite interviews, and his thoughts on how Rock music is treated by the Grammy Awards. There is also insight into Lou’s forthcoming book SONIC WARRIOR: My Life as A Rock N Roll Reprobate (Tales of Sex, Drugs and Vomiting at Inopportune Moments) and even a section on Darla the Wonder Dog.

You can read the entire interview here.

Many thanks to both Ken Anthony and Joel Denver of All Access for featuring LB and congratulations to them on the twenty-fifth anniversary of the site.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM LOU & DARLA

As the holiday season opens, Lou and Darla the Wonder Dog have unveiled their Christmas card for 2019.

This year’s card features artwork based on the cover of an old Archie Comics Christmas Classic. Lou explained, “I figured since the new Riverdale show was wreaking havoc on Archie’s legacy, it would be nice to salute the comic’s old school roots.”

As with previous cards, the art was done by The Alan MacBain Cartoon Company. You can check out older cards and other images in the Art section of the site here. Alan is currently working on original illustrations for Lou’s upcoming book entitled “Sonic Warrior: My Life As A Rock N Roll Reprobate (Tales of Sex, Drugs & Vomiting at Inopportune Moments).” The book will be published by Rare Bird Books on April 14, 2020.

Each of this year’s cards are hand-signed by both Lou and Darla. If you’re not already on the list to receive one, the best way to get a card is to send a card of your own. The address is Brutus World Industries PO Box 361 Arnold, MD 21012. Supplies are limited!

A DECADE OF DARLA

Happy Birthday messages have been pouring in from around the world for Darla the Wonder Dog!

As his constant companion celebrates her tenth birthday, Lou wants to thank everyone for their love and well wishes. Darla celebrated her big day with breakfast, rubs, a Cheerios snack, more rubs, second breakfast, a nap, lunch, a walk, peanut butter treats, more napping, dinner, another walk and then a birthday party including a custom made “pupcake.”

Later in the evening, Darla took control of Lou’s Twitter feed answering questions from fans before retiring for the evening with more snacks and rubs.

Thanks again to everyone for reaching out to Darla and following the hashtag #aDecadeOfDarla.

FEAR AND LOATHING AT THE NORTH POLE

The 2018 holiday card from Lou and Darla has been revealed and it may be the best yet!

Based on Ralph Steadman’s “Bats Over Barstow” illustration from Hunter S. Thompson’s landmark novel “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas,” Lou’s is “Fear and Loathing at the North Pole.” It features he and Darla maniacally sledding through a frozen landscape.

The art was created by LB’s longtime partner in artistic crime Alan MacBain of the Alan MacBain Cartoon Company.

Inside the card the caption reads, “We were somewhere around the Arctic Circle on the edge of the tundra when the eggnog began to take hold. Suddenly there was a terrible HO-HO-HO all around us and the sky was full of what looked like red-nosed reindeer, all swooping and screeching and diving around the sled, which was going about a hundred miles an hour to the North Pole.”

The art can be enjoyed online. A select few physical cards went out to family and friends. Also, as the best way to get Christmas card from someone is to send them card, Lou mailed off cards to a number of listeners who had been kind enough to send to him.
