DEAD SCHEMBECHLERS: SOLD OUT

It’s been long rumored that LB is eyeball deep in the legendary Ohio State football-fueled punk rock band Dead Schembechlers. The group has made a career out of savagely attacking the Michigan Wolverines in favor of THE Ohio State Buckeyes. They’ve appeared on HBO, ESPN, ABC-TV and in newspapers around the world including The New York Times, Detroit Free Press, The Sydney Herald, Detroit News, Columbus Dispatch, The London Times, and USA Today.

The band has announced it’s first ever coloring book entitled “Scarlet Submarine.” It tells the story of a pigskin paradise called Buckeyeland overrun by Maize and Blue Weenies led by Coach Hairball. A creature called The O-Where Man escapes the catastrophe in the Scarlet Submarine and enlists the band to reclaim his homeland. The story was written and conceived by lead singer Bo Biafra with graphic blandishment by Alan MacBain. It is now available through the band’s website here.

The group has also announced its Hate Michigan Rally. It will be held in Columbus, OH Friday, November 25 at Ace of Cups, 2619 North High Street. Special guest will be Bava Choco. Show time will be 8pm. Further information is available at DeadSchembechlers.com and AceOfCups.com.

UPDATE: The Hate Michigan Rally is now completely SOLD OUT. The band has added an unprecedented second show. The Michigan Massacre Morning Matinee will star the band at 9AM Saturday November 26th. Tickets on sale here.

Recent band press includes Cleveland.com, The Columbus Dispatch, Maize and Go Blue, Pure Grain Audio, and The Bakersfield Californian. Additional press from Joel Oliphint at Columbus Alive, Pat Forde at Yahoo Sports, Dan Wetzel at Yahoo Sports, Scout.com, and Andy Downing at Columbus Alive.

HARDWIRED…TO SELF DESTRUCT

Metallica has released their new album “Hardwired…To Self Destruct” on their own Blackened Recordings. To help celebrate, they’ve relaunched their Mandatory Metallica channel on SiriusXM and (once again) brought Lou onboard to program it.

Of the album Brutus said, “It is easily their finest record since ‘The Black Album’ and includes what I feel is one their best songs of all time ‘Spit Out the Bone.’ It’s an honor to be asked by the band and their management to help blast this thing out to all of North America.”

LB has a long history with Metallica going back to the early club days. He has been on hand for many of their most historic performances including The Freddie Mercury Tribute show in London, The Million Man Mosh in Philadelphia, The S&M concert at NYC’s Madison Square Garden, Grimey’s Basement in Nashville TN, and the legendary Molson Ice Polar Beach Party in the Arctic village of Tuktoyaktuk, Canada.

This limited-engagement channel can be heard on SXM 40.

UPDATE: The channel’s run has been extended due to the overwhelming response! You can hear it thru 3AM on Monday November 28th.

It was a triumphant return to Sonic Boom 2016 in Janesville, WI. The two day festival on October 1st and 2nd 2016 found LB interviewing and photographing a Who’s Who of hard rock including Disturbed, KoЯn, Avenged Sevenfold, Breaking Benjamin, Chevelle, Ghost Alter Bridge, Sevendust, Pop Evil, Trivium, Parkway Drive, Pierce the Veil, 3 Doors Down, Hellyeah, Motionless in White, Avatar, The Amity Affliction, Dope, Young Guns, Wayland, Skindred, Adelita’s Way, Nonpoint, Crobot, I Prevail, Devil to Drag, and Breech. Gratitude to WJJO for bringing LB in once again to host and hang. Thanks also to the rockers of Wisconsin for all the love!

THE RAZOR’S EDGE

On September 30, 2016 Lou Brutus made his first ever trip to Green Bay, WI to co-host Edge Fest 2016 with his fellow rockers from Razor 94.7. After a visit to Lambeau Field to pay respects to Vince Lombardi it was over to The Sandlot to interview and photograph Sevendust, Nonpoint, Crobot, Like A Storm, Wilson, and Twelve Foot Ninja. Highlights of the night for LB were bringing Crobot onstage by performing a special rap with the band as well as a heartfelt intro for his friends in Sevendust. Following the show, Lou hopped on the Sevendust bus to hitch a ride to Sonic Boom. Many thanks to those of you in the Green Bay and Appleton area for all the love.
